City of Heviz

The magnificent town is located on the shores of Lake Heviz - the largest thermal reservoir in the world. The shape of the lake resembles a funnel, its depth reaches 38 meters, and at the bottom there is an underwater cave from which three thermal springs flow. In summer, the water in the lake warms up to 32 degrees, and in winter its temperature never drops below 24 degrees. Thanks to its funnel-shaped shape, the water is constantly mixed, which ensures the same temperature at any point in the lake. The surface of the reservoir is decorated with pink water lilies, which were brought from India. They are even depicted on the city's coat of arms.

Hajduszoboszló

Hajduszoboszló has the largest spa complex in Hungary and in Europe in general, which offers a wide range of services and entertainment for different abilities and preferences. The city is also famous for its huge number of different baths and thermal pools. A special feature of the complex is the Mediterranean beach with a palm alley, which gives a special charm to the place. In addition, Hajduszoboszló is home to the country's largest aqua park, where the total length of the slides exceeds a kilometer. Children will be delighted by the super-realistic animal sculptures located right in the pools. The beach and water park are open from May until late autumn, and the aqua palace with eight pools with different water temperatures, giant slides and other entertainment is available all year round.

Eger

Eger is famous not only for its medieval fortress, but also for its magnificent thermal springs. In addition to the usual pools and spa complexes, in Eger you can visit traditional Turkish baths, which have been preserved since Ottoman rule. On the outskirts of Eger, in the town of Egerszalok, which is just 10 minutes away by public transport, there is another thermal park with many water activities and artificial limestone slides, reminiscent of the Turkish Pamukkale.

Eger is also famous for its wines - the most interesting, in our opinion, is “Bull's Blood” (Egri bikavér), which can be purchased on tap in all restaurants and cafes in the city. Debrecen

The city of Debrecen, thanks to its climate and atmosphere, began to be called the “Hungarian Mediterranean”. In 2003, the Mediterranean water park "Aquaticum" was opened here, surrounded by tropical plants. The park has various attractions such as slides, hot tubs, geysers, rivers, waterfalls and cave baths.

In the north of Debrecen there is the Nagyerdő (Great Forest) Nature Park, where you can take a great walk and enjoy the pristine beauty of the virgin forest. Here you can also find an amusement park, a zoo and a botanical garden. It is especially interesting to visit Debrecen during the Flower Carnival in August and the Balloon Festival, which takes place in October.

Miskolc-Tapolca

The town of Miskolc-Tapolca has become famous for its unique bathhouse, which is located in a natural karst cave. This is not just one cave, but a whole complex of caves with many illuminated halls, grottoes and labyrinths that unexpectedly lead visitors into open-air pools.

Miskolc-Tapolca has many attractions worth visiting. One of them is an open thermal lake surrounded by a picturesque beech forest. It is also worth paying attention to the ancient Town Hall Square and Diosgyőr Castle, which was the residence of King Lajos the Great. Not far from Miskolc, in the beautiful valley of the mountain river Sinva, there is the climatic resort of Lillafüred. A special feature of this resort is its famous castle, whose towers are reflected in the emerald waters of Lake Hamori.

Sharvar

The area was searched for oil in the 1960s, but instead one of the deepest thermal water deposits in the country was discovered. The hot water entering the pools and baths of Sharvar comes from a record depth of two kilometers. Its temperature is 83 degrees Celsius, so it must be cooled before use. From this water a medicinal salt known as Sharvar crystal is extracted. In the city, it is also worth visiting the Renaissance Nadasi Castle and Arboretum to enjoy its beauty.
